October 24, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Belarus has signed a civil aviation memorandum of understanding with Jordan at a negotiation event hosted by the International Civil Aviation Organization in Malaysia, the transport ministry\u2019s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk also signed a negotiation protocol with Harare, it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, the Belarusian delegation approved an intergovernmental agreement on passenger air service with Saudi Arabia as well as memorandum and protocol-level civil aviation documents with Kuwait and Morocco. It also discussed cooperation with the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian flagship carrier Bie\u0142avija provides service to nine countries after being banned from flying to the European Union over the forced landing of Ryanair plane in Minsk in May 2021 used to arrest an opposition blogger and his girlfriend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, the European General Court upheld the EU sanctions against Bie\u0142avija which is also under the United States\u2019 sanctions that include a ban on exports and licensing of certain aircraft and spare parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bie\u0142avija CEO Ihar \u010carhiniec blamed Western sanctions for a failure to replace the company\u2019s fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
