October 28, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian authorities on Friday added 50 people to the list of persons “involved in extremist activity,” including a group of experts nicknamed by officials and propagandists “Cichano\u016dskaja’s think-tankers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of them \u2013 Ryhor Astapenia, Filip Bikana\u016d, Alaksandar Dabravolski, Jury Drakachrust, Andrej Kazakievi\u010d, Hanna Krasulina, Ja\u016dhien Kry\u017eano\u016dski, Dzianis Ku\u010dynski, Vieranika \u0141apu\u0107ka, Alaksandar \u0141ahviniec, Hanna Lubakova, Vasil Navuma\u016d, Maryja Rohava, Piotra Rudko\u016dski, Lesia Rudnik, Natalla Rabava, Pavie\u0142 Vusa\u016d, Ta\u0107ciana \u010culickaja, Alaksandar \u0160\u0142yk and Kaciaryna \u0160macina \u2013 were found guilty of forming an extremist group, plotting to overthrow the government and other alleged crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 24, the Committee for State Security added them to the “list of terrorists.” Although these people were sentenced in absentia because they are based abroad, the interior ministry categorized them as \u201cserving the sentence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authorities monitor the financial transactions of all citizens on the extremism list with the objective of preventing the legalization of illicit funds and the financing of extremism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The list on the interior ministry website contains 4,594 entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
