October 31, Pozirk. <\/em><\/strong>The United States\u2019 new sanctions target four companies for ties with Belarus-based enterprises linked to the <\/em><\/strong>Russian defense sector, the Department of State said<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restrictions apply to military repair facilities, producers of advanced technologies and companies supporting Belarusian-Russian military cooperation, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the targeted companies is Morotack Tianjin Technology Co Ltd China that allegedly sold “critical components for military products” to the optical equipment plant Dyjaprajektar in Raha\u010do\u016d, Homiel region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington also sanctioned the Russia-based Astron mechanical design bureau for supplying parts for thermal imaging devices to the sanctioned Vavi\u0142a\u016d Mechanical Plant in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The US Department of Commerce continues updating its list of Belarusian companies and individuals sanctioned for Minsk’s support of Russia\u2019s war on Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States introduced sanctions against Belarusian state-run companies over human rights abuses, alleged vote rigging in the 2020 presidential election, a brutal crackdown on protesters and support of Russia’s war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August, Washington also imposed visa restrictions on dozens of \u201cregime officials and their affiliates for undermining or harming democratic institutions in Belarus.\u201d The list also included several judges involved in the politically-motivated persecution of Belarusians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
