November 1, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser proposed sending Frontex forces to the border with Belarus during her visit to Poland on October 30 amid accusations that Belarus and Russia are transporting migrants to the European Union’s external border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mission could include a large number of German police officers, she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faeser praised Poland’s contribution to strengthening security and reducing illegal migration, the interior ministry’s press office said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said that a common European asylum policy had been designed to help combat illegal migration. It provides for a fairer distribution of refugees across Europe, an asylum procedure for the most vulnerable categories at the border and basic standards for receiving and hosting asylum seekers in the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minister noted that German police have guarded the country’s land border since mid-September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Berlin and Warsaw want to reduce illegal migration, stop smugglers, end crime and identify Islamists together, she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The German police documented over 64,200 attempts by irregular migrants to sneak into Germany in the first nine months of 2024, including about 6,900 in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to official data analyzed by Pozirk, over 28,100 illegal entries into Poland from Belarus were registered in the first 10 months of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
