November 14, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>The Lithuanian government has backed the finance ministry’s bill to denounce the treaty between Lithuania and Belarus that allows avoiding double taxation of income, the government’s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u016bta Bilk\u0161tyt\u0117, Lithuania\u2019s vice minister of finance, cited \u201ccontinuing complicity of Belarus with Russia, the military aggression against Ukraine and the gross violation of international law.\u201d The Seimas has already denounced a similar agreement with Russia, she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lithuania stopped cooperation with Belarus and has not exchanged information for tax purposes for a few years, the government said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In late September, Lithuanian MPs approved withdrawal from three economic cooperation treaties with Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
