November 17, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarus’ economy grew by 4.2 percent year on year in January\u2013October, the National Statistical Committee (Bie\u0142stat) said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The economy expanded by 4.9 percent in the first eight months and by 4.5 percent in January\u2013September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bie\u0142stat also reported an increase of 6.2 percent in industrial output, 3.2 percent in agricultural production, 11.8 percent in retail sales and 9.2 percent in transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusians\u2019 real disposable incomes rose 9.4 percent in January\u2013September. Stockpiles of unsold industrial goods increased by 4.23 percent annually, as of November 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Monetary Fund expected Belarus\u2019 economy to grow by 2.4 percent this year, and the World Bank projected a 1.2-percent increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the BEROC think tank predicted growth of 4.2 and 4 percent, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, Belarus\u2019 economy grew by 3.9 percent after 4.7-percent contraction in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
