November 25, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Diplomats as well as top defense and security councils’ officials from the Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will discuss the military and political situation “in the regions of collective security\u201d on November 28 in Kazakhstan’s Astana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will attend the CSTO Collective Security Council’s session and a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils, the bloc’s press office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants are also expected to discuss prospects for \u201cfurther development of the collective security system,\u201d it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyrgyzstan will brief allies about the priorities of its upcoming chairmanship in 2025 as it prepares to take over from Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSTO comprises six former Soviet states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Yerevan froze its membership and did not rule out leaving the CSTO over the latter\u2019s inaction during Azerbaijan\u2019s capture of Nagorno-Karabakh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 relations with Armenia deteriorated over Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s support for Azerbaijan, including supplies of weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
