November 26, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan are expected to participate in the Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization\u2019s (CSTO) security council\u2019s session in Kazakhstan’s Astana, TAS<\/em>S reports, citing the Kazakh foreign ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Secretary General of CSTO, Imangali Tasmagambetov, as well as his counterparts Sergey Lebedev and Zhang Ming of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, respectively, will also participate in the November 28 event, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Armenian officials are not mentioned in the TASS<\/em> report on the upcoming summit. Earlier, the Armenian foreign ministry said its head Ararat Mirzoyan did not plan to attend CSTO\u2019s joint meeting of security councils\u2019 heads, foreign and defense ministers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though Armenia will not take part in the November 28 summit, Yerevan did not object to documents being adopted without its representatives being present, RIA Novosti<\/em> reported, citing Russian CSTO envoy Viktor Vasilyev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSTO comprises six former Soviet states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Yerevan froze its membership and did not rule out leaving the CSTO over the latter\u2019s failure to respond to Azerbaijan\u2019s capture of Nagorno-Karabakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 relations with Armenia deteriorated over Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s support for Azerbaijan, including supplies of weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Astana summit is the second CSTO event that Yerevan ignored after it refused to participate in a similar event in Minsk last November.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
