December 3, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Last night, at least 21 Iranian-made Shahed drones that Russia uses to attack Ukraine were spotted in the Belarusian airspace, the defense monitoring group Bie\u0142aruski Hajun said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drones reportedly flew in from Russia, heading towards Homiel and the Homiel region’s Mazyr, Brahin and Re\u010dyca. At least three drones entered Belarusian airspace directly from Russia’s Bryansk province, the group said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian military aircraft did not take off to intercept the drones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drone incursions into Belarus have been regularly reported over the past five months as Russians attack Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early September, Belarusian air defenses downed several drones over Homiel. Later, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka admitted drone incursions and claimed that Belarusian air defenses shoot down UAVs regardless of their Russian or Ukrainian origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, authorities refused to introduce additional security measures in Homiel region\u2019s Chojniki district, whose residents signed a petition to express concern about their children\u2019s safety, according to\u00a0petitions.by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
