December 4, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Leanid Kasinski, the Belarusian defense ministry’s chief propaganda officer, has accused regime opponents of “cynical attempts” to complicate the situation by exerting pressure on mothers of Belarusian soldiers, without elaborating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kasinski spoke about national security at a meeting with officials, the leaders of public associations and political parties and business organizations in the Homiel region, state media reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting came in the run-up to Belarus\u2019 presidential election scheduled for January 21-26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Today, we are all soldiers in the information war waged against us,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Every resident of our country must understand that the main task set before us by the commander-in-chief is to safeguard peace on Belarusian soil. Naturally, this task will be accomplished, no matter what it costs us. All elements of national security may depend on the fulfillment of this task, because if there is no peaceful sky over our country, there will probably be nothing,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kasinski urged meeting participants to take a critical approach to information flows not to be fooled by lies and fake news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Homiel region is a target of our enemies’ influence as part of their attempts to destabilize the situation,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
