December 4, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The US Congress will hold a hearing tomorrow to examine the role of the Belarusian government in the relocation and indoctrination of Ukrainian children, the US Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (Helsinki Commission) said<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will also discuss Russian-Belarusian military cooperation and sanctions evasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ma\u0107viej Kuprej\u010dyk of the BelPol association of former security officers is announced as a witness. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis and legal expert Kateryna Rashev\u015bka of the Regional Center for Human Rights will also testify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnder the 30-year dictatorship of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, Belarus has become one of the most isolated and dangerous countries in Europe. Lukashenka and his regime have destroyed and uprooted many lives\u2014jailing over a thousand political prisoners in horrific conditions, blatantly falsifying elections, and engaging in mass repressions leading to an exodus of civil society from the country. Yet Lukashenka would not be able to survive without the patronage of Vladimir Putin. Since Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Belarus has effectively operated as an extension of Russia. Lukashenka has become instrumental in carrying out Putin\u2019s war and shielding him from accountability, the commission said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his children’s rights commissioner, Maria Lvova-Belova, for allegedly relocating Ukrainian children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, Belarusian democratic forces seek an arrest warrant for \u0141uka\u0161enka, accusing him of involvement in this crime. Thousands of Ukrainian children have been transferred to Belarus, where they have allegedly been subjected to pro-Russian indoctrination. Minsk denies these accusations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
