December 5, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>The Belarusian government has extended the law that legalizes piracy and \u201cgray\u201d imports of goods from the so-called \u201cunfriendly\u201d countries until late 2026, says a document published on the National Legal Internet Portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The law adopted in secrecy two years ago was designed to help stabilize the economy and prevent critical shortages amid Western sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It overrides the copyright law, allowing for the use of intellectual property, including software, music, broadcasts and audiovisual works, without the consent of the copyright holders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities listed Albania, Australia, Canada, Iceland, Liechtenstein, the European Union, Montenegro, New Zealand, Norway, North Macedonia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom as \u201cunfriendly\u201d states for introducing sanctions against Belarus over human rights abuses and complicity in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
