December 6, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The principles of sovereign equality and mutually respectful dialogue that were “killed off in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe” are embodied in mutually beneficial projects within Eurasian structures, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the OSCE Ministerial Council in Malta yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are no students or teachers and no neocolonial practices in organizations such as the Union State of Russia and Belarus, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of instructions such as “be with us or be our enemy,” there is mutual respect and a willingness to seek a fair balance of interests, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same event, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Juryj Ambrazievi\u010d expressed a similar view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk connects the future of the region from Lisbon to Seoul with Eurasian security, he said. However, Minsk believes that there is still a chance to bring the OSCE’s activities in line with its original mandate as a “platform for cooperation in the interests of fair and indivisible security.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus is ready for “meaningful and equal interaction” with all participants in the meeting, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
