{"id":118531,"date":"2024-12-17T00:26:21","date_gmt":"2024-12-16T21:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/118531\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","slug":"reprisals-wave-of-extremism-trials","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/118531\/","title":{"rendered":"Reprisals: wave of extremism trials"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>December 17, <em>Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> A wave of extremism trials has swept across Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday, the Viciebsk Regional Court began the trial of former entrepreneur Ta\u0107ciana Mi\u0161yna, accused of facilitating extremism, Viasna Viciebsk reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brest Regional Court began the trial of designated political prisoner Julija \u0141aptanovi\u010d&#8217;s mother, Ta\u0107ciana Vasiljeva, accused of facilitating extremism for an interview with<em> Belsat<\/em> <em>TV<\/em>, a prohibited television station, in 2021, Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pastavy District Court examined a case against local resident Vital Buhajo\u016d charged with sharing &#8220;extremist&#8221; content. The verdict is unknown, Viasna Viciebsk reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A whole range of extremism trials took place in Or\u0161a. Notably, the defendants were tried at a police station, not the courthouse. They received fines or jail sentences, <em>Orsha.eu<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the Minsk City Court began the trial of Armen Arzumanyan, charged with calling for sanctions and defaming the head of state, Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mass detentions of political prisoners&#8217; relatives are taking place across the country, <em>Strana Dlya Zhizni <\/em>reported.
