December 17, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>A senior Belarusian diplomat has referred to the Russian war against Ukraine as a conflict between Russia and NATO at a high level conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By ignoring the interests of their neighbors and refusing to observe the principle of indivisible security, Western countries started the Russia-NATO conflict in Ukraine, said Juryj Ambrazievi\u010d, a Belarusian deputy foreign minister, at today’s online ministerial meeting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The foreign ministry quoted him as saying that Belarus is being pressured along its western and northern borders, where “NATO members are deploying new troops and arming themselves actively.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For many years, Belarus has been talking about the degradation of international security and proposing the resumption of an active dialogue both at the regional European level and at the global level in order to create a renewed system,” the diplomat said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus proposes to work together and build clear and transparent security in Eurasia based on the principles of peaceful coexistence and the diversity of paths of “progressive development,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Each participant in this system will receive clear and effective security guarantees. I repeat, we don’t need to unite against anyone to achieve this result. Each of us who supports this approach simply needs to build our own state, strong and effective in every sense, and to openly cooperate and support each other,” Ambrazievi\u010d said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
