December 23, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian engineers have designed the Sapsan mobile system for downing small unmanned aerial vehicles, the State Defense Industry Committee reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It released a video of the system test-firing at air targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The committee said that the Sapsan can defend critical facilities from small drones, providing their detection, electronic suppression and destruction “in an automated mode.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system is reportedly capable of detecting small drones at a distance of at least 3,000 meters using radar and at least 1,800 meters using electro-optical reconnaissance. It can shoot down drones from 400 meters and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Sapsan can include multiple reconnaissance and fire modules with combat crews, radars and communications, as well as reconnaissance and electronic warfare stations and systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 24, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka visited the 230th Combined Arms Training Ground in the Brest region to review domestic UAV development. He emphasized the need for using domestic components in their production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 10, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported training drone operators in electronic interference and modern conflict scenarios, amid ongoing reports of Russian attack drones entering Belarusian airspace on their way to or from Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
