December 24, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Billboards addressed to Ukraine’s northern neighbors have been installed at the border between the Volyn and Rivne regions and Belarus, Ukrainian journalist Andriy Tsaplienko said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The billboards face the Belarusian checkpoints of Makrany, Tru\u0161ava and Vierchni Cierabia\u017eo\u016d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ukrainian border guards are calling on their colleagues in Belarusian not to obey the Russian regime and to resist like their grandfathers did during the liberation war against the Soviet government,” Tsaplienko said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his opinion, the whole of Belarus is practically controlled by Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The only real core of the Belarusian opposition forces is the Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment, which is fighting against the Russian army in Ukraine,” the reporter said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pictures he published feature the Pahonia coat of arms and slogans referring to the 1930 S\u0142uck uprising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The checkpoints at this border have been closed since February 2022, when a Russian army invaded Ukraine from Belarus. Since then, Ukrainian border guards and military have been concentrated there to prevent a new invasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian officials and Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka have repeatedly accused Ukraine of hostile plans at the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The S\u0142uck uprising took place in November\u2013December 1920. For about a month, Belarusian military units, composed mainly of local peasants, defended the Belarusian National Republic (BNR) in part of the Minsk province against Soviet troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
