December 24, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The government will repay the interest on loans taken out from Bie\u0142arusbank by the Belarusian Cement Plant (Bie\u0142aruski \u0421emientny Zavod) and the Kry\u010da\u016d Cement and Slate Plant (Kry\u010da\u016dcemientna\u0161yfier).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The December 20 directive to that effect, adopted by the Council of Ministers, has been published on the National Legal Internet Portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, the government will repay their debts from funds allocated for “other issues in the field of industry” within the preapproved spending limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interest the rubel loans should not exceed the National Bank’s refinance rate and on the dollar and euro loans, 7 percent per annum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian Cement Plant borrowed $30.75 million ($4.621 million in principal debt on November 1) and 9.23 million rubels (8.534 million rubels). The Kry\u010da\u016d Cement and Slate Plant borrowed $65.448 million ($57.243 million) and 35.4 million rubels (32.17 million rubels).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, the government spent 7.6 million rubels on the former and 20.3 million rubels on the latter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2023, the United States imposed sanctions on the Belarusian Cement Company, which manages both plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
