December 30, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Almost two-thirds of CEOs at <\/em><\/strong>Belarusian state-run companies believe that their economic outlook will not change in the short term, says a survey by a research center affiliated with the economy ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than half of respondents expect \u201cthe preservation of current production output,\u201d it noted. Industries managed to maintain their production capacities at 70 percent with most orders available in under four months, according to the survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investments are expected to be used for equipment replacement, 78 percent of respondents said, with capacity expansion ranked second with 31 percent. Nineteen percent of CEOs plan to invest in resource-saving and 16 percent, in labor cost reduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seventy-two percent of respondents noted that industrial goods prices have not changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus\u2019 industrial production growth slowed to 5.5. percent year in January\u2013November from 8 percent in January-May, the National Statistics Committee (Bie\u0142stat) said earlier. It amounted to 185 billion rubels (some $54 billion at the current exchange rate).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
