January 8, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Andriy Kovalenko, in charge of the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation, has played down the reported Belarusian troops buildup near the Ukrainian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ukrainian Armed Forces do not see a threat of invasion, has said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The military build-up near the Ukrainian border in Belarus\u2019 Homiel region does not mean that Minsk is preparing for an offensive, he noted, referring to yesterday\u2019s reports from the defense monitoring group Bie\u0142aruski Hajun on troop deployments to the Stolin, Lel\u010dycy, Mazyr and Homiel districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group also flagged the arrival of a Russian military aircraft in late December as well as activities at military airfields in Ma\u010duli\u0161\u010dy near Minsk and in Brest region\u2019s Baranavi\u010dy and \u0141uniniec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
