January 9, Pozirk. <\/strong>The leader of the Communist Party of Belarus (CPB), Siarhiej Syranko\u016d, has used his air slot to demand that the West lift all sanctions and pay Belarus a compensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said he supported Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s course toward “a society of universal middle-income prosperity.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noting that the full election manifesto is available on his party\u2019s website, Syranko\u016d talked about foreign and domestic policies and national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that “the world system of capitalism” is in deep crisis, accusing the West of aggressive policies and murders “in Ukraine, the Middle East and many other corners of the planet.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In 2020, the Western aggressors wanted to organize a coup d’\u00e9tat or at least unleash a civil conflict in our peaceful Belarus,” the politician claimed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described Minsk’s foreign policy as a “shift to the East,” promising to continue it, if elected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Syranko\u016d said that he and his party “traditionally consider integration with Russia a strategic and unshakable process.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presidential election is taking place in a purged political landscape amid a new crackdown on regime critics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian opposition dismissed the election as a sham, noting that political reprisals prevent pro-democracy candidates from running and voters from freely expressing their will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Belarus has not held a free and fair election since 1996.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
