January 10, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Belarusian House of Representatives has ratified several agreements with Far Arc countries, according to the lower house and state media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the agreements is a Belarusian-Chinese deal on investment and trade in services, signed in Minsk in August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It aims to establish a free trade zone in services between Belarus and China, promote the expansion and diversification of trade and promote fair competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Economy Minister Jury \u010cabatar said China was among Belarus’ top five partners in trade in services, which increased by a third in the first 10 months of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“According to expert estimates, the conclusion of the agreement will lead to an increase in exports of Belarusian services to China by 12\u201315 percent. The growth of Chinese investments in Belarus in the medium term is estimated at 30 percent,” the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another agreement is a Belarusian-Indian deal on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters, signed in Brussels in June 2024. Lawmakers also approved a similar deal with Nicaragua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, they ratified a Belarusian-Egyptian accord establishing a system of mutual trade facilitation and a protocol to the 2014 agreement on mutual supplies between Belarus and Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 23, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka announced he planned to visit China soon and emphasized the need to focus on both traditional and more distant markets of the Far Arc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Far Arc is a Belarusian foreign policy term referring to Asia, Africa and Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
