January 10, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> National Anti-Crisis Management head Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka has told the Future of Belarus conference that Poland and its neighbors are perfectly aware of the Minsk threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Does the whole of Europe realize it? Is this realization enough to start acting strategically and preventively? It is still not too late to take preventive measures that can make the threat impossible. Otherwise, we must recognize that in the future, the EU sees Belarus as a country with which it will have war sooner or later,” the Belarusian opposition politician said, as quoted by his press office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141atu\u0161ka recalled that security is one of the priorities of the Polish presidency of the European Union. “Where does it start? With an increase in military spending? With the erection of defenses? These things are necessary today, but the strategy should also include preventive measures,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The politician added that it is not about appeasing the aggressor but about being proactive and weakening the aggressor before his potential attack. In particular, he advocated uniform sanctions against Russia and Belarus and an effort to bring Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka to justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Community of Democracies organized the conference in the Polish capital. Earlier, Pozirk<\/em> reported<\/a> that opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja signed a memorandum of understanding with the coalition’s Secretary General Mantas Adom\u0117nas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
