January 11, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> An agreement between Belarus and Russia on mutual recognition of visas, signed in June 2020, has taken effect, the Belarusian foreign ministry reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The treaty allows foreign nationals and stateless persons with Belarusian or Russian visas to cross the borders of Belarus and Russia for the entire validity of their visas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travelers will also be able to use six border crossings at the shared border between both states, which had previously been open only to Belarusians and Russians. Crossing the Belarusian-Russian border outside these checkpoints is prohibited and will be regarded as a violation of the state border, the ministry noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visa-free entry is possible only if both Belarus and Russia offer visa waivers, otherwise, corresponding entry visas are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The treaty does not apply to persons whose entry into any of the two countries is restricted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
