January 22, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>The Polish Senate has approved a resolution on the presidential election in Belarus that started with early voting yesterday and will conclude on the main voting day on January 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current electoral campaign in Belarus is even more under the control of the authorities than the previous ones, questioned by international organizations, the resolution said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither of the candidates represents an alternative to Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka, while exiled 500,000 Belarusians are deprived of the right to vote, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarus’ presidential election will be just an attempt to legitimize the dictatorship and its result cannot be recognized by the international community, the resolution stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senator Grzegorz Schetyna, who chairs For a Free Belarus parliamentary group of the Sejm and Senate of Poland, voiced the Senate’s call for free and fair election under international supervision with the guarantee of independent observation, safe voting process, equal chances for all candidates and freedom of the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
