January 29, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ry\u017eanko\u016d has made it clear that Minsk fully supports Russia\u2019s \u201cdenazification\u201d campaign in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview with Russia’s Izvestia<\/em>, he said that Moscow does not plan to attack Western countries, unless provoked by NATO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The West does not take nuclear threats seriously, but Russia can use nuclear weapons, he warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe stand together with Russia,\u201d Ry\u017eanko\u016d said. \u201cWe have signed a treaty with Moscow on joint security guarantees, which includes the use of nuclear weapons. In addition, there are agreements to deploy the [Russian missile system] Oreshnik in Belarus. This is the most advanced weapon, which has no equivalents even abroad. This is our response, a deterrent response, not an offensive one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka and his officials openly support the Russian war against Ukraine. Minsk claims peaceful intentions and denies the Belarusian army\u2019s involvement in combat operations but allowed Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplies arms to the Kremlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days ago, \u0141uka\u0161enka told journalists he did not regret allowing Russian troops to march through Belarus into Ukraine in February 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
