The ministry also raised bonuses for anesthesiologists and intensive care specialists to 300 percent of the salary; ER, family doctors and pediatricians, to 235 percent of the salary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The national job bank has currently 4,327 open positions for doctors, 456 more than in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doctors\u2019 average salary in Belarus was less than an equivalent of \u20ac740, which is significantly lower than the salaries of doctors in Poland, Lithuania and Germany, according to the BEROC think tank which warned that the widening pay gap prompts doctors to leave the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Healthcare staff shortages are also linked to politically-motivated reprisals continuing in Belarus since the disputed 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least 17 doctors were held behind bars in Belarus for political reasons in late 2024, the Viasna Human Rights Center said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 29, Pozirk.
