January 29, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Some 46,600 Belarusian nationals are employed in Lithuania, Delfi<\/em> reported, quoting the country’s employment service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusians are the largest group of foreign workers in the country, followed by Ukrainians with 46,000 employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of Belarusian workers has increased by 33,600 since 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most Belarusians work in transport and logistics (33,100) and construction (5,600).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finance and insurance sector saw the largest influx: seven Belarusians worked there at the beginning of 2022 and 114 now. The number of Belarusian IT workers increased from 631 to 3,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some 1,300 Belarusians work in the manufacturing industry, more than 1,000 in car service centers, 541 in administration and services and 473 in the hotel and restaurant industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most Belarusians have medium-skilled jobs (40,900). The number of such workers has increased by 50 percent since January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of high-skilled Belarusian professionals has increased more than fivefold to 5,200, the employment service said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
