January 29, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Alaksandar [\u0141uka\u0161enka] has received a congratulatory message from the chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, \u017deljka Cvijanovi\u0107, \u0141uka\u0161enka’s press office reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The strong trust that you have received from the Belarusian people during this election cycle is proof of your political authority and efforts to further strengthen the sovereignty, prosperity and progress of your country,” the press office quoted her as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cvijanovi\u0107 said that she and the Belarusian government will work together to strengthen ties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was the second European leader to congratulate \u0141uka\u0161enka on his victory in last week’s presidential election after Serbian President Aleksandar Vu\u010di\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka was also congratulated by Milorad Dodik, president of Republika Srpska, a constituent entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dodik visited Belarus in February last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EU leaders, including top politicians in Hungary and Slovakia, which have maintained ties with \u0141uka\u0161enka’s regime, have not congratulated him on his controversial re-election as of January 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the leaders of at least 15 countries have congratulated the Belarusian ruler: Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Venezuela, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, China, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, \u0141uka\u0161enka won with 86.82 percent of the vote. The final results will be announced on February 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
