January 31, <\/strong>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Delegates have re-elected Juryj Sia\u0144ko as chairman of the pro-government Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB) at a conference on January 31, the FTUB press office said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the conference, Sia\u0144ko signed a five-year trilateral agreement between the government, employers and the FTUB on employment, remuneration and social security guarantees. Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Karankievi\u010d signed the accord on behalf of the government and Anatol Char\u0142ap, head of the Confederation of Industrialists and Employers, on behalf of the employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FTUB has supported Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka for the last 20 years, while Sia\u0144ko, a former diplomat who took over the federation in April 2024, was in charge of the Belarusian ruler\u2019s 2025 presidential campaign. The FTUB also deployed nearly 9,000 pro-\u0141uka\u0161enka activists to observe the poll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the 2020 mass protests against presidential election fraud, the government shut down all independent trade unions and arrested union leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
