February 2, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> A group of activists honored the memory of the insurgents of Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski, one of the January Uprising leaders and Belarusian national hero, in Warsaw yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activists gathered at the Warsaw Citadel’s Gate of Executions, where on August 5, 1864, Russian troops hanged Romuald Traugutt, a leader of the uprising, and his comrades. The commemoration began with a common prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Today we must reach out to those who are in heavenly Belarus, like Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski, and in heavenly Poland because now is a difficult time,” said Via\u010das\u0142a\u016d Si\u016d\u010dyk, the leader of the Razam movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said Russia is trying to tear apart nations that should be together, stressing the need for a joint responses. “We are being fought by non-humans, and we are humans,” the politician stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speakers also included Halina Pa\u017aniak, a representative of the Free Belarus movement, and Volha Byko\u016dskaja, an associate of political prisoner Vitold A\u0161urak, who died in prison in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
