February 3, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Belarusian Armed Forces have launched an exercise, focusing on electronic warfare and the use of reconnaissance and attack drones, the defense ministry has reported without specifying any numbers of troops and equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement comes two weeks after the Hrodna garrison hosted a tactical training session for battalion commanders on measures to counter drone attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Defense Minister Viktar Chrenin linked the latest exercise to \u201cthe current situation,\u201d requiring the military to be ready to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state and make unconventional decisions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pavie\u0142 Muraviejka, chief of the General Staff and deputy defense minister, is in charge of the maneuvers, which will also involve reservists and mechanized units, the ministry said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troops are expected to prepare military and special equipment for use and travel to training ranges and unfamiliar sites for training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry announced possible temporary restrictions on civilian transport on public roads due to the movement of military equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian army is regularly conducting drills after Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine in February 2022, in which Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka supports the Kremlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
