February 6, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Russia\u2019s Lada has outsold China\u2019s Geely in Belarus in January, said Andrej Tka\u010do\u016d of the Belarusian Automobile Association (BAA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dealers sold 4,299 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles last month. Sales rose more than threefold year on year, the BAA website quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Russian carmaker sold 1,706 vehicles to expand its market share to 39.7 percent. It was followed by China\u2019s Geely (BelGee), the best-selling brand until recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tka\u010do\u016d noted a record share of green cars. Their total sales rose to 586 units last month, accounting for 14.2 percent of vehicle sales in the passenger car segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tka\u010do\u016d predicts \u201ca transformation of the market\u201d in 2025 as more and more consumers choose hybrid electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sales data for January and 2024 is not publicly available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
