February 7, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian officials have added 30 people to the list of persons “involved in extremist activity.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of them were sentenced on criminal charges typically used for political persecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, Ivan Pastu\u0161ok, U\u0142adzis\u0142a\u016d Karasiuk, Siarhiej Kozak, Alaksandar Ciulkin, Anatol Kasi\u0142a and Andrej Bobika\u016d were imprisoned for alleged violent disorder in connection with the 2020 postelection protests; D\u017amitry Ivan\u010dyka\u016d, U\u0142adzis\u0142a\u016d Ko\u0161ale\u016d and Ja\u016dhieni Dziemienie\u016d for allegedly insulting officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrej \u0141abada (insulting an official and extremism), Andrej \u015aciapurka (violent disorder), Vital \u010copik (violent disorder and extremism) and Alaksiej Klu\u0161ni\u010denka (calling for sanctions and insulting the head of state) were designated by human rights groups as political prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, authorities blacklisted Dzianis Saka\u0142o\u016d, Aleh Sy\u010do\u016d, Maksim \u0141apacin, Nasta\u015bsia Pilko, Michai\u0142 Dziomin, A\u0142a Jacuta, Vital Jakucik, Ja\u016dhienija Ta\u010dyckaja, Siarhiej \u0141opara\u016d and Mykola Shve\u0107, all convicted in connection with an drone attack on a Russian plane at the Ma\u010duli\u010d\u0161y airfield outside Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case’s defendants faced a total of 11 criminal charges, including terrorism and high treason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the officials blacklisted Hanna Stupakievi\u010d, Anton A\u0161urko, D\u017amitry and Jelizavieta \u017darnasiek, Jana Ilina, Arciom Zia\u0144ko\u016d and Anton \u010cyviel, with a note “criminal record not expired.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The list of extremists, available on the interior ministry website, contains 4,930 entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
