February 11, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>The Ukrainian government has moved to terminate an agreement with Belarus on the “principles of cooperation and terms of relationship in the field of communications.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taras Melnychuk, representative of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, announced the decision in his Telegram channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deal was signed in Kyiv and has been in force since December 17, 1992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine, in which Belarus supports Russia, Kyiv terminated numerous agreements with Minsk and within the CIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August 2024, Ukraine pulled out of the agreement on cooperation in government communications with Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, in October 2023, \u0141uka\u0161enka signed into law a bill suspending an agreement on displaced persons with Ukraine. The agreement, dating back to 2005, protected the rights and regulated the resettlement of displaced persons and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both chambers of the National Assembly voted to suspend it on September 19. Belarusian MPs described the suspension as \u201cpart of the response to Ukraine\u2019s unfriendly actions\u201d against Belarus and cited the protection of national interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
