February 12, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar Valfovi\u010d, head of the Belarusian Security Council, has told the State Border Committee (SBC) that it is necessary to \u201cfocus on building up the engineering infrastructure and military component, primarily in the Ukrainian sector,\u201d in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comes amid Minsk’s continued support for Moscow\u2019s full-scale war against Ukraine. At the outset of the conflict in February 2022, Russia used Belarus as a launchpad for an invasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valfovi\u010d accused Kyiv of the \u201cendless build-up of border barriers,\u201d the SBC press office reported. He advocated creating new border units and strengthening the existing ones, equipping them with drones and anti-drone equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SBC head Kanstancin Mo\u0142asta\u016d said the active use of manned and unmanned aviation would make the border more secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said preventing \u201carmed and other provocative acts at the state border\u201d was among the SBC\u2019s committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the \u201cactive construction of new border outposts on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border will continue\u201d this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
