February 13, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>More than 160,000 people from 159 countries were treated in Belarusian clinics last year with medical services exports rising by 10 percent, Jan Biedu\u0161e\u016dski of a state-run healthcare project designed for foreigners has told journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of foreign patients surged by 20 percent compared to 2023, he said, noting that 60 percent were nationals of former Soviet states from the Commonwealth of Independent States, while the rest came from China, Syria, Germany, the United States, Israel and Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biedu\u0161e\u016dski attributed the growth to “highly specialized clinics with state-of-the-art equipment,” qualified doctors and implementation of innovations. However, it may also be linked to the extension of visa waiver for European nationals approved in late 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Foreigners prefer Belarus for transplant and cardiac surgery, cancer treatment, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, diagnostic examinations and rehabilitation, the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
