February 14, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> A former husband of Kry\u015bcina Cimano\u016dskaja, the Belarusian sprinter who fled from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games to Poland, says that he has returned to Belarus and is ready to cooperate with investigators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arsie\u0144 Zdanievi\u010d told Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s propagandist in a livestream that he had been manipulated. \u201cMy ex-wife likes all these things, to be number one, to shout and pretend that \u2018I am here, and I\u2019m against everyone. Everybody, look at me!\u2019 And it turns out that I was just being controlled like a puppet,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Zdanievi\u010d emphasized that he does not know the details of his ex-wife\u2019s public activities or of the work of the opposition Belarusian Sports Solidarity Foundation. He said he voted for \u0141uka\u0161enka in the elections and called on Cimano\u016dskaja to return to Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 9, Na\u0161a Niva<\/em> reported that the athlete saw Zdanievi\u010d in a video posted by a Minsk car wash. Cimano\u016dskaja was \u201cshocked that her ex-husband dared to cross the border of his homeland.\u201d Then, according to Na\u0161a Niva<\/em>, she \u201ctagged the account of the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the border service in her stories.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Investigative Committee (IC) soon started checking reports of Zdanievi\u010d\u2019s involvement in crimes against the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAccording to the investigation, in February of this year, information surfaced on the Internet, including social networks, that Arsie\u0144 Zdanievi\u010d is in Belarus,\u201d the IC said. \u201cWeb users cite A. Zdanievi\u010d\u2019s ex-wife, K. Cimano\u016dskaja, a member of one of the extremist groups, as the source.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
