February 17, Pozirk. <\/strong>The Minsk police has announced thorough checks on people who are not formally employed in the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interior Minister Ivan Kubrako\u016d \u201coutlined the primary task of updating information in the database of working-age persons unemployed in the economy,\u201d it said. The surprise checks will be carried out in all city districts, it said, noting that \u201cproposals on improving the legislation will be submitted.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSpecial attention will be given to people working abroad. Control over the so-called idlers and those getting off-the-books salaries will be strengthened. Employment programs will be expanded. Those avoiding employment because of their alcohol or drug addiction will be sent to LTPs [forced labor rehabilitation centers],\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
