February 17, Pozirk. <\/strong>Volha Zazulinskaja, the opposition\u2019s social representative, has expressed strong concern about accounts from witnesses about Belarusian female prisoners\u2019 failing health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By isolating, torturing and depriving them of medical care, authorities put their lives at risk, she said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe situation is especially difficult for Viktoryja Kul\u0161a, Alena Hnauk and Volha Majorava, and we have no right to turn our backs on their suffering.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the politician, Kul\u0161a made two suicide attempts, went on a hunger strike three times, and has serious kidney problems. Last week, \u201cthey called for an ambulance with a resuscitation team for her, since she can no longer get on her feet.\u201d If her kidneys fail, \u201cshe would not survive without dialysis.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is not a punishment; this is torture and condemnation to death,\u201d Zazulinskaja stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She continued by saying that Hnauk has refused to petition the government for pardon and is being \u201csystematically killed\u201d for that. She has \u201cheavy bleeding caused by stomach problems.\u201d \u201cShe continues to fight, but her strength is gone, and no help is provided to her,\u201d Zazulinskaja said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, Majorova \u201crisks losing her eyesight completely.\u201d Doctors at the penal colony have refused to treat her because she has been labeled \u201cterrorist,\u201d she said. Wardens refuse to take medicines and medical parcels from her relatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, on February 10, opposition activist Palina \u0160arenda-Panasiuk also talked about the poor health of Kul\u0161a, Hnauk and Majorava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
