February 20, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Committee for State Security (KGB) has added 15 people to the list of persons \u201cinvolved in terrorist activities,\u201d its Telegram channel says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ja\u016dhien Dzemiano\u016d, Ihar Kuza\u016dka, Andrej Prychod\u017aka, Vijaleta Viarbickaja and Illa Iljukievi\u010d were sentenced on criminal charges that authorities use to persecute political opponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rights groups consider other five blacklisted persons as political prisoners: Alaksiej Klu\u0161ni\u010denka, serving six years in prison; Hienad\u017a Sa\u016drycki and Iryna Sa\u016dryckaja, whose terms remain unknown; Vital Skibinski as well as Aleh Sy\u010do\u016d, imprisoned for nine years in a high-profile case over an attack on a Russian military aircraft at an airfield near Minsk in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KGB also blacklisted other defendants in this case convicted without being present at the trial: Michai\u0142 Dzemin, Vital Jakucik, Ja\u016dhienija Ta\u010dyckaja, Siarhiej \u0141aparo\u016d and Ukrainian national Mykola Shve\u0107, handed over to Kyiv last June after a prisoner exchange with Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities found them guilty of 11 crimes, including terrorism and high treason, with sentences ranging from 15 to 25 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, 1,248 people, including at least 561 Belarusian nationals, are on the KGB terrorist register. Prisoners on the list are prohibited from receiving money transfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
