In 2022, all five reportedly joined the Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment, a Belarusian volunteer unit under the Ukrainian command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials have not disclosed any names, and it remains unknown if the defendants are currently in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About three months ago, the Investigative Committee brought charges of terrorism and other crimes against Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment fighters Arciom Bihiel, Via\u010das\u0142a\u016d Hrano\u016dski, Jan Mielnika\u016d, Ihnat Kireje\u016d and former paramedic Anastasija Machomiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around the same time, investigators also opened criminal cases against eight volunteers with alleged links to the regiment: Alaksiej Mancynski, Raman Jaromienka, Pavie\u0142 Kachnovi\u010d, Cichan Kluka\u010d, Ja\u016dhien Karankevi\u010d, Alaksandar Piatro\u016dski, Ja\u016dhien Sa\u0142ochin and Jahor Ispianko\u016d. All of them are based outside Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Battalion was formed in March 2022, shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine.
