February 25, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The proportion of unprofitable companies rose in three regions of Belarus in 2024 from the previous year\u2019s level, according to National Statistical Committee (Bie\u0142stat) data analyzed by Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The share increased by 9.8 points to 17.2 percent in the Brest region; by 6.7 points to 16.8 percent in the Hrodna region; and by 7.7 points to 21.8 percent in the Mahilo\u016d region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, a reduction of 1.5 points to 10 percent was reported across the country because of a decrease of 1.6 points to 7.6 percent in the Viciebsk region; of 2 points to 8.3 percent the Homiel region; 2.6 points to 9.7 percent in the Minsk region; and 1.8 points to 13.5 percent in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bie\u0142stat reported a 0.5-point decrease in the overall return on sales to 6.4 percent year on year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 1, economic entities owed banks 58.95 billion rubels in rubel and foreign currency loans, according to the National Bank of Belarus, which publishes such data with a month\u2019s delay. The debt was 12.5-percent \u200b\u200bhigher than on January 1, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overdue debt increased more than threefold to 733.5 million rubels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
