{"id":1280,"date":"2023-08-28T13:29:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-28T10:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=1280"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"csto-september-drills-to-involve-2500-troops","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/1280\/","title":{"rendered":"CSTO September drills to involve 2,500 troops"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>August 28,&nbsp;<em>BPN<\/em>.<\/strong>&nbsp;About 2,500 servicemen and over 500 units of military equipment are expected to participate in the Collective Security Treaty Organization&#8217;s (CSTO) Combat Brotherhood drills in Belarus, Anatoliy Sidorov, the CSTO chief of Joint Staff, has told journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first stage&nbsp;started on August 25 with the regrouping of the CSTO&#8217;s&nbsp;Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Combat Brotherhood will focus on &#8220;a step-by-step separate training of tasks&#8221; designed to localize armed conflicts and maintain security in conflict zones, he said<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Observers from Iran, China, Mongolia and Saudi Arabia have been invited,&nbsp;he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interaction 2023, a stage of Combat Brotherhood, scheduled from September 1 to 6 in Belarus, will focus on the resolution of crises in the CSTO&#8217;s Eastern European region. Search 2023 and Echelon 2023 are events for intelligence and military logistics units, respectively, while emergency units will participate in Rock 2023 nuclear safety drills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Combat Brotherhood will take place at &#8220;firing ranges and sites in the Brest, Hrodna and Minsk regions,&#8221; according to&nbsp;the Belarusian defense ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CSTO is a military-political alliance whose declared goals are strengthening peace, international and regional security and stability, and protecting the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of its member states.
