February 27, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Joint Russian-Belarusian exercises are nothing new, President Gitanas Naus\u0117da said at the Vilnius Book Fair, according to Lithuanian media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two countries often organize drills to demonstrate their strength, but the Lithuanians are not afraid of it, he said. Lithuania and its allies hold their own maneuvers, he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lithuanians should focus on what they could do independently and together with their partners, not get anxious about the \u201caggressors\u2019\u201d plans, Naus\u0117da stated. And this, he added, is precisely what Vilnius is doing now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the fall, Russia and Belarus will hold the Zapad-2025 strategic exercise on Belarusian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly warned of Russian military build-up and a potential invasion from Belarus to the European Union. These concerns are not unfounded\u2014in February 2022, Moscow\u2019s troops that were in Belarus for a drill carried out an offensive on Kyiv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
