Feburary 27, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarus\u2019 employment-to-population ratio, which shows what portion of people who could be working actually are, fell 1.1 points to 82.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2024 y\/y, according to Pozirk<\/em>\u2019s analysis of Bie\u0142stat\u2019s data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It dropped 1.4 points to 82.8 percent in cities and 0.3 points to 83 percent in rural areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Bie\u0142stat, 67.7 percent of the unemployed look for jobs on the internet and in the media, 62.9 percent through their friends and relatives, and only 19.7 percent contact employers directly. Just under 16 percent reach out to employment services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The employment-to-population ratio shows the percentage of a country\u2019s working-age population that is currently employed, indicating how well an economy is utilizing its potential workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka instructed officials to prevent the exodus of economically active people from the regions, calling this the \u201cnumber one task.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
