{"id":1286,"date":"2023-08-28T19:25:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-28T16:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=1286"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"protestant-churchs-social-media-content-labeled-extremist","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/1286\/","title":{"rendered":"Protestant church&#8217;s social media content labeled extremist"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>August 28,&nbsp;<em>BPN.<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;A Minsk court has declared Instagram posts and a YouTube video by the New Life Church extremist, as requested by the prosecutors, the church has said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the ruling, issued on August 23, the content was blacklisted for &#8220;groundlessly claiming&#8221; that there were political reprisals in the country and for &#8220;undermining the authority&#8221; of the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 1992, the Protestant church has been at odds with the government since the early 2000s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the disputed 2020 presidential election, its Pastor Via\u010das\u0142a\u016d Han\u010darenka condemned police brutality against protesters, and the following year authorities evicted the congregation from the church building. In September 2022, Han\u010darenka was detained and fined 3,200 rubels (some $1,300 at the current exchange rate).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This month, Han\u010darenka and his son-in-law Illa Budaj served 10- and five-day sentences, respectively, for alleged minor offenses, such as defying police orders.
