March 6, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Lithuania’s Prosecutor General’s Office has forwarded to court a criminal case against two Lithuanians accused of spying for Belarus, its press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigators said that both went to Minsk in May 2022, where an intermediary negotiated their contacts and cooperation with the Belarusian military.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the suspects later reportedly joined Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union with espionage purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information allegedly collected and transferred by suspects to the Belarusian intelligence services was not secret, yet may have a certain value for drafting military invasion plans and targeting Lithuania in other ways, prosecutors noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both suspects remain in custody and may face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
