March 6, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk plans to discuss increasing the presence of European and NATO troops at the Russian and Belarusian borders during the ongoing summit in Brussels, TVN24<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Europe’s leaders are meeting to consider defense and rearmament after the United States distanced itself from the continent’s security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Today we talk a lot about security guarantees for Ukraine, but to give security guarantees to someone, you have to be safe yourself,” Tusk told reporters before the talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So Europe should fully secure its borders, especially with Russia and Belarus, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prime minister called the Eastern Shield project, which would protect the EU from Russia and Belarus, a priority. “It is not just a Polish project, as the Finns and the Baltic countries are also involved,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Tusk, strengthening the defense of EU airspace, cyberspace and the Baltic Sea is also necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
