March 7, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The average price of electricity per 100 kWh was rising throughout 2024 in Belarus, Pozrik<\/em> journalists have concluded based on the National Statistical Committee’s records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It rose 0.8 percent, from 25.11 rubels per 100 kWh in the first quarter to 25.3 rubels in the last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the price of a 50-liter natural liquefied gas cylinder grew by 1.4 percent (per person per month), hot water by 0.1 percent (per person per month) and 1 liter of gasoline by 2.2 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, Deputy Energy Minister Volha Prudnikava said when the nuclear power station starts operating, electricity prices would not be rising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michai\u0142 Michadziuk, another deputy energy minister, said that prices might go down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two power units of the Astraviec Nuclear Power Plant have generated more than 39 billion kWh of electricity as of February 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Ministry of Energy, the nuclear plant has replaced more than 10 billion cubic meters of gas and reduced emissions by more than 16 million tons annually. The station satisfies about 40 percent of the country’s electricity needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
